ARC Daily Connect Newsletter - Tuesday, September 30, 2025
Welcome to the ARC Daily Connect. Today, I'm thinking about the gap between urge and action.
One day, I realized there was always a split second between the craving and my action. That tiny gap was my opening — the place where I could step in and choose differently.
Science
Neuroscience shows that even strong urges have a brief delay before action. In that space, the prefrontal cortex — the decision-making part of the brain — can override the reactive impulse. This is where real change happens.
ARC Skill
Today, practice noticing the gap. Even a single breath before acting is a victory.
Closing
You don’t need a huge space to make a change — just a sliver of awareness. We’re all learning to find the gap together, and every pause strengthens us as a community.
Have an amazing day!
Here are the podcast replay links from the last month.
This is a Google Sheet containing all podcast recordings from January 2025 until present. Please check the tabs at the bottom of the sheet for the month you are looking for. Thanks!
Gratitude
The benefits of gratitude are nearly endless. People who regularly practice gratitude by noticing and reflecting upon what they're thankful for experience more positive emotions, feel more alive, sleep better, express more compassion and kindness, and even have more robust immune systems. What are you grateful for today?
