ARC Daily Connect Newsletter—Tuesday, November 11, 2025

November 11, 2025

Welcome to the ARC Daily Connect. We're so glad you're here!

Thoughts for the Day—Believing "I'm Broken"

Amara often thought, “I’m broken.” Each time the sentence appeared, she felt smaller, as if she had less to offer the world. She avoided friends, skipped activities she once loved, and struggled to care for herself. The thought shaped her behavior until it seemed to prove itself true.

Neuroscience shows why. When we believe a painful thought, the brain’s alarm systems activate, flooding the body with stress hormones. This physical reaction makes the thought feel even heavier, creating a cycle of belief, reaction, and withdrawal.

But when Amara began asking, “How do I react when I believe this?” she saw the cost. She noticed her shoulders tensing, her heart racing, her urge to hide. Naming these reactions didn’t erase the thought, but it gave her clarity. The thought wasn’t just painful—it was shaping her entire way of being.

As we notice the effects of belief, we discover we are not the thought itself. Together, we can step back, hold compassion for the cost we’ve carried, and begin to imagine gentler ways of living.

Have an amazing day! SHG

Gratitude

The benefits of gratitude are nearly endless. People who regularly practice gratitude by noticing and reflecting upon what they're thankful for experience more positive emotions, feel more alive, sleep better, express more compassion and kindness, and even have more robust immune systems. What are you grateful for today?
