ARC Daily Connect Newsletter—Thursday, November 6, 2025

November 06, 2025

Welcome to the ARC Daily Connect. We're so glad you're here!

Thoughts for the Day—I Need This to Calm Down

Naomi carried the thought “I’ll always struggle” for decades. It was rooted in her earliest experiences and felt unshakable. But when she began to ask, “Can I absolutely know it’s true?” she noticed something she hadn’t before. The thought was shaped by her past, not by evidence of her future.

The brain stores painful experiences more vividly than positive ones. This is part of the negativity bias—the tendency to hold on tightly to memories of danger or failure. But this same brain also has the capacity for neuroplasticity. Each time we notice an old belief and question it, we weaken the old pathway and strengthen a new one.

Naomi realized she couldn’t know the future absolutely. The thought “I’ll always struggle” was just a shadow from the past. By seeing it in this light, its hold on her began to fade.

All of us carry beliefs that feel heavy with certainty. But together, we can remind one another that no thought, no matter how old, owns the final word.

Have an amazing day! SHG

Gratitude

The benefits of gratitude are nearly endless. People who regularly practice gratitude by noticing and reflecting upon what they're thankful for experience more positive emotions, feel more alive, sleep better, express more compassion and kindness, and even have more robust immune systems. What are you grateful for today?
