ARC Daily Connect Newsletter—Saturday, November 8, 2025
Welcome to the ARC Daily Connect. We're so glad you're here!
Thoughts for the Day—Relationships and Assumptions
Elena often thought, “She’s upset with me.” The thought would spiral quickly, leaving her anxious and defensive before she even spoke to her friend. But when she asked, “Can I absolutely know it’s true?” she realized she couldn’t be sure. Sometimes her friend was upset, but just as often, she was distracted or tired.
This is how assumptions work. The brain fills in missing information with guesses, often leaning toward negative ones. But questioning those guesses interrupts the stress loop. The nervous system calms, leaving space for real connection instead of imagined conflict.
Neuroscience shows that relationships improve when we soften certainty. People who practice flexibility communicate more openly and experience less social stress.
Each time one of us pauses to question an assumption, we open the door to gentler connection. And together, we can build relationships that rest more on truth than on fear.
Have an amazing day! SHG

Gratitude
The benefits of gratitude are nearly endless. People who regularly practice gratitude by noticing and reflecting upon what they're thankful for experience more positive emotions, feel more alive, sleep better, express more compassion and kindness, and even have more robust immune systems. What are you grateful for today?
