ARC Daily Connect Newsletter—Monday, October 20th, 2025
Welcome to the ARC Daily Connect. We're so glad you're here!
Thoughts for the Day
This week we begin with one of the most important foundations of recovery: how we relate to our thoughts. Many of us know the sting of waking up with painful thoughts like “I’ll never change” or “Something is wrong with me.” These thoughts feel so heavy that they can shape an entire day before it even starts.
But here’s the hopeful truth: thoughts are not facts. Neuroscience shows us that the human brain produces thousands of thoughts each day—most of them repetitive, many of them shaped by old experiences or fears. They feel convincing, but that doesn’t make them true.
When we meet our thoughts with judgment, we feel trapped. When we meet them with curiosity and compassion, space opens up inside. That space makes it possible to pause, to breathe, and to choose a different response.
This week, we’ll explore the nature of thoughts and how to work with them gently. Each day you’ll hear a story that brings this to life, learn the science behind what’s happening in the brain, and try out a simple practice for loosening the grip of painful beliefs.
Think of this as planting seeds. Every pause, every moment of kindness toward yourself, is one more seed of freedom. By the end of this week, you’ll see how small steps can shift your relationship with thoughts in ways that bring real peace.
Let’s begin, together, by meeting our thoughts with kindness.
Have an amazing day! SHG

Gratitude
The benefits of gratitude are nearly endless. People who regularly practice gratitude by noticing and reflecting upon what they're thankful for experience more positive emotions, feel more alive, sleep better, express more compassion and kindness, and even have more robust immune systems. What are you grateful for today?
